Harbor View Hill Park (Minato no Mieru Oka Koen)

An exotic park with a panoramic view of the Bay Bridge and the Port of Yokohama.
There is an English rose garden, “English Rose Garden,” and a sunken bed garden, “Fragrance Garden.” Visitors can enjoy the fragrance and color of roses, plants, flowers and trees throughout the four seasons against the backdrop of Western-style architecture.

The park is also the site of the French Consulate and the British Consul General’s residence at the time of the opening of the Port of Yokohama, and the British Pavilion and the Yamate 111 Building in the park evoke a Western atmosphere.

The park is planted with approximately 2,000 roses of about 330 varieties in total, and the Rose Garden in spring and fall is spectacular.
The area was featured in Studio Ghibli’s “From Up On Poppy Hill.
