The Cupnoodles Museum is a museum of instant ramen. This is a hands-on food education facility where visitors can enjoy learning about the importance of invention and discovery and venture minds through various exhibits and experiences related to instant ramen.
Here, visitors can enjoy making their own original “Cup Noodles” and learn about the history of instant ramen.
The well-known Chicken Ramen character “Chick-chan” greets visitors here and there in an adorable manner.
At “NOODLES BAZAAR World Noodle Road,” visitors can taste noodle dishes from around the world in the form of food stalls. It is a heaven for ramen lovers, with rare noodle dishes and Cup Noodle-flavored soft-serve ice cream available for purchase!
Visitors can also enjoy the experience of making their own original cup noodles. At “My Cup Noodle Factory,” visitors can make their own original cup noodle by choosing soup and ingredients in a cup of their own design.
At the Chicken Ramen Factory, visitors can make their own Chicken Ramen, the world’s first instant ramen. Visitors can actually experience the entire process from kneading the flour to drying it using the “instant oil-heat drying method,” which is sure to attract visitors’ interest.
At the “Instant Ramen History Cube,” 3,000 instant ramen packages from Japan and around the world are on display.
At “Cup Noodle Park,” a field athletic gym where visitors can experience the Cup Noodle production process is a big hit with toddlers and children under elementary school age.
Visitors can also learn about the development process and suffering of Chicken Ramen by visiting the research hut and animation theater of Momofuku Ando, the founder of instant ramen.
The Momofuku Theater features a CG animation depicting Momofuku Ando’s inventions and development stories, while the Momofuku Research Hut, Momofuku Ando History, and Creative Thinking Boxes offer a variety of other fun and educational exhibits.

Overview
The entire museum is a hands-on museum, where visitors can enjoy looking, touching, making, and eating together with adults and young children.
The theme of the museum is Momofuku Ando’s creative thinking, which aims to convey to children the joy of invention and discovery and a venture mindset.
The facility is comprehensively produced by art director Kashiwa Sato.
The museum opened in 2011 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Momofuku Ando, the inventor of instant ramen and founder of Nissin Foods (2010), and the 40th anniversary of the invention of “Cup Noodles,” the world’s first cup ramen (1971).
Since its opening, the museum has attracted many visitors, attracting more than 1 million a year and winning the Kanagawa Prefecture Tourism Grand Prix Award, establishing itself as one of the leading corporate museums in Japan.
Museum Facilities and Exhibits
Instant Ramen History Cube: Visitors can learn about the history of instant ramen. The museum displays 3,000 instant ramen packages from Japan and around the world, mainly from Nissin Foods products. The world now eats about 100 billion servings of instant ramen every year.
Momofuku Theater”: A cartoon film (CG animation) depicts Momofuku Ando’s efforts to invent and discover the instant ramen, as well as the secret story behind its development. (Running time: approximately 14 minutes).
Momofuku’s Research Hut”: A faithful reproduction of the research hut where Momofuku developed Chicken Ramen all by himself.
Momofuku Ando History”: A 58-meter-long wall panorama depicting Momofuku’s inventions, discoveries, and business successes.
Creative Thinking Box”: The “Creative Thinking Box” is an exhibit of Momofuku Ando’s “creative thinking,” which is expressed through six keywords: “Take a hint from anything,” “Never give up,” “Think outside the box,” and so on. There is also a diorama, a room where visitors can enjoy optical illusions, and an exhibit where CG images appear on the walls when touched.
Making and experiencing original cup noodles
Chicken Ramen Factory: Visitors can experience making their own Chicken Ramen from flour in 90 minutes. Visitors can experience the entire process of kneading flour, rolling it out, steaming, seasoning, and then drying it using the “instant oil-heat drying method. (Reservations required).
My Cup Noodle Factory: Visitors can make their own original cup noodle at this hands-on workshop.
Visitors purchase a special cup from a vending machine, color the cup, and design their own package. After that, visitors choose one of four types of soup and four toppings from a selection of 12 different ingredients. There are a total of 5,460 possible combinations! Once you have created your own original flavor, the package is covered with a lid and you can take it home.
NOODLES BAZAAR World Noodle Road: This is a space where visitors can enjoy noodles from eight countries around the world in a food cart format.
The menu includes everything from Italian pasta to Korean cold noodles and Thai tom yum kung noodle.
And there is also Cup Noodle-flavored soft-serve ice cream, which has a unique taste. Topped with the same ingredients as the Cup Noodles, it has a perfect mix of sweet and salty flavors. Please come and experience it for yourself.
Cup Noodle Park: A field athletic gym where visitors can experience the Cup Noodle production process while playing on a variety of playground equipment. (Only for children of elementary school age and younger, with height restrictions).
