Enoshima Samuel Cocking En

Botanical Garden with an exotic atmosphere

The botanical garden is a blend of Japanese and Western plants, named after Samuel Cocking, an English trader in the Meiji era.

Rare plants from all over the world are collected here, including the Cook’s arroyo carya, the striped nanyosugi, and the tsukami holly, all of which are designated natural treasures by Fujisawa City.

Visitors can also see the remains of Mr. Samuel’s greenhouse, which was lost in the Great Kanto Earthquake and other disasters.

The park has a sister city area associated with Fujisawa City.

Visitors can enjoy authentic soba noodles at the Matsumoto City Plaza and Matsumoto Soba Dojo “Matsumotokan” and try their hand at buckwheat noodle making.

At Miami Beach Plaza, an American-style café with a wooden deck overlooking Katase Beach and the yacht harbor, visitors can enjoy French toast and other treats.

At Poryeong Square, visitors can view the mukuge, Korea’s national flower, and other flowers. Kunming Square (Chuntaekwon) features traditional Chinese architecture.

At Windsor Square, beautiful Canadian roses are planted. This is a great spot to visit in conjunction with the Enoshima Sea Candles.
