The Enoshima Escalator was built in 1959 as the first outdoor escalator in Japan.
The escalator allows visitors to reach the top of Enoshima in only 4 minutes.
The escalator is also convenient for visiting Eshima Shrine and the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden/Enoshima Sea Candle (observation lighthouse).
You can take the escalator from the red torii entrance.
It is also the sales counter for the Enoshima 1-Day Pass, a convenient way to enjoy Enoshima to the fullest.
