The trail along the waterfall was closed to the public for a while in 2004 due to a series of rock falls that damaged benches and the stairs of the trail, but it will be reopened to the public in 2022 with the construction of a 118-meter-long, 226-step trail and a new viewing platform 40 meters above the ground. The waterfall will be reopened to the public in 2022.

The “Dansui Waterfall Festival” is held on the fourth Sunday of July every year, and includes a water ceremony, a fire festival in the precincts of Joujimbo, and performances by Dansui taiko drummers. After the fire festival, paper money is handed out, which is believed to bring good fortune and good health, and participants compete to take the money home.

The Shansui Falls is a mystical place where nature and history meet, and is popular with many people.
